Toronto’s Reelworld Film Festival has carved out a room for it self in Toronto’s exploding ethnic landscape using a plan with eyes that achieve past the cinematic medium: to make an effect by handling societal change on an international level. Movie, obviously, is nevertheless in the center, but the festival has grown in its 16 years to add virtual reality, visual art, poetry, and much more. And it is possible to put in an excellent day of songs that is live.

Reelworld called us up to collaborate on a music period for their Social Influence Industry and Arts Zone and, hearing the mandate, we understood this had 8 8 Times of Fortune created all over it. So, on Oct 15th at 4:30pm at the Harbourfront Centre, Graph Strike will be presenting 2 of our favourite musicians from the queer-friendly, mindbending music and artwork collective.

Witch Prophet will strike us with a few of the easy-as-all-fuck potential R&B that created us so thrilled this year and led to her-just-launched new EP H.P.B. Subsequently Yasmine will chill the chamber with a few of the woozy-trendy hip hop which has been been using up up sound cloud.

Check it out while you roam through the market, as well as music from SKETCH, societal invention sellers, tech demonstrations, movie, games, a virtual-reality arcade, and much more great material.

One of the movies playing at Reelworld will be Across The Line, the function introduction of Director X, who you may understand from “Hot-Line Bling,” … and the majority of the top videos, Canadian and otherwise, of the last few decades.

Inspired by the activities of the 1989 Cole Harbour District High School race riots, Across The Line follows a black Nova Scotian teen poised to eventually become an NHLer. As his brother’s legal lifestyle and tension at college escalates comes nearer to home, the possibility’s ice hockey dreams fall into danger. The festival programme calls it: “equal parts amazing and unsettling… [shedding] crucial light on racism in Canada as well as the challenge to locate one’s identity in a society ready to determine.”

We have got two pairs of tickets to Reelworld’s screening of Across The Line Saturday, Oct 1-5 at 4:45pm. The Manager himself will be in attendance.
