COSTA RICA CONFIDENTIAL — Jimena Franco’s fantasy, now 40, of one day becoming actress has been fulfilled, and, additionally, won the best actress award in the Festival Internacional de Cine de Guayaquil 2017 (Guayaquil International Film Festival 2017) for the lead role in the film “Abrázame como antes” (Hug Me earlier), by Costa Rican filmmaker Jurgen Ureña.

Franco is among the most bizarre transgenders in Costa Rica and possesses the Comparsa Nacional Latin Stars for the previous 23 years.

At “Abrázame como antes” Jimena plays the function of Verónica, a transgender woman who prostitutes herself at the roads of this Amón community, in San José.

Jimena actively supports the LGBT community in Costa Rica

Director Ureña, has accepted the movie. In Costa Rica, it screened during the neighborhood festival, but it’s anticipated that before the end of this month (November) it can be viewed in many theatres.

In an interview a month, Jimena stated when she made the call to tell her news, she had been sleeping. “After knowing what he had been talking about, I became frozen, just like for a few minutes, in my bed”

The award has given the opportunity to Jimena.

Jimena confessed never to have traveled by plane and now, thanks to the marketing for the movie, has been in the United States and is now in Guatemala, combined with Jurgen, participate in the Festival Ícaro p Cine Centroamericano 2017.
