July 29, 2008 Action Figure Photo Archives Update The Droids R2-D2 figure has now been added to the photo archives. I am still in need of a picture of him carded. If someone has one that they would like to contribute, please let me know! Posted by James. July 29, 2008 Ebay Today Here's a rare find: instructions for the Kenner ATL Interceptor vehicle! When I first read the announcement yesterday over at Rebelscum.com about an Ewoks comic pack, my first thought was, "Wow! A comic pack from the Ewoks comic series!" Then a few minutes later I saw the picture. Turns out they're not from the old Ewoks comic series, they're from an old Marvel comic. While it's a little disappointing, there may be a little glimmer of hope. If Hasbro can make some really obscure Ewoks based off of a decades old comic, then maybe it's not impossible for them to make something based off of the Ewoks comics or TV series. Posted by James. July 24, 2008 Ebay Today Here's an example of some original Kenner photography that's up for auction right now. To check it out, just click here! Posted by James. July 23, 2008 Character Biographies
Zebulon Dak is the one responsible for bringing the first Droids storyline to an end. Shame on him, I liked Thall and Jord! Actually, for the racing team it was good news, since Zebulon offered them really great jobs. But there was a bit of bad news. If they worked for Zebulon, they would no longer be able to keep R2 and 3PO. The droids decided to make the decision a lot easier for their masters by secretly leaving Kea's ship in escape pod. Posted by James. July 22, 2008 Droids Episode Reviews The episode review for the first episode of Droids, The White Witch is now complete. Check it out! Posted by James. July 21, 2008 Spotlight on Droids Collectibles Here's a really cool Droids collectible: the storybook of the first Droids episode, The White Witch! The book doesn't really follow the storyline of the TV episode very closely, but who cares! Published in 1986 by Happy House, this book is 20 pages long, and features full page artwork by Bunny Carter. To check out a HUGE picture of the cover, just click on the picture above. Posted by James. July 18, 2008 Ebay Today Right now there are some pretty amazing Droids and Ewoks collectibles up for auction, including these pre-production cardbacks (called Cromalins) that feature the final wave of unreleased figures from each series. Animated Action Figures! No, they're not figures based off of the Droids series, but they're the closest thing since 1985! As part of their web site update, Hasbro is showing off some of the new figures from the upcoming Clone Wars movie and TV series. Now if Hasbro would just repaint that C-3PO to match his Droids color scheme... But until then, if you get these two to go along with last year's Holiday Special Boba Fett, you could be on your way to building a modern Droids figure set! Sure, they're not completely accurate, but with a little imagination, they could make great placeholders until the day! Posted by James. July 16, 2008 Character Biographies
Morag is one nasty character! All I can say is, if the Empire thought that Ewoks were trouble, they were lucky that Morag was gone by the time they came to Endor. Morag was also one the final Ewoks action figures to be made, but unfortunately was never released to the public. Posted by James. July 16, 2008 New Droids Art! Check out Stirzy's new Admiral Screed art in the pictures section! Posted by James. July 16, 2008 Spotlight on Droids Collectibles Here is a really nice (and rare!) vintage Droids sticker from Spain. Something that makes this particular sticker extra attractive is that it features Thall Joben's original speeder the Stinger, instead of the more well know speeder the White Witch. To check out more details on this set, head on over to theswca.com. Posted by James. July 14, 2008
Character Biographies Admiral Screed made his first appearance in the fourth Droids episode, A Race to the Finish as a spectator at the Boonta Speeder Race. While his role in that episode was just a brief cameo, he later returned in the Mungo Baobab storyline, as well as in the Great Heep special. Screed was the highest ranking Imperial to appear in the entire series. He was often accompanied by Imperial Stormtroopers. Posted by James. July 14, 2008 Crimson Empire Exclusive Here's something new that's popped up today. It's an exclusive action figure set featuring characters from the Crimson Empire comic series! Character Biographies On the planet Annoo, a small Rebel resistance cell was forming under the leadership of Demma Moll. One of the members of this movement was a man named Gar. While Gar's role in the series was very small (I don't think he even had any lines) it was still significant as he was one of the few characters to be actually identified as a Rebel. Posted by James. Ebay Today Here's an interesting listing for Ewoks and Droids model sheets. Character Biographies To my knowledge, the only appearance that an A-Wing Pilot ever made in connection with Droids was in the form of an action figure. Jann Tosh did pilot an A-Wing Fighter, so perhaps this figure was based on him, even though Jann never did wear an A-Wing Pilot's uniform. In the art on the action figure card, this A-Wing Pilot is seen running through the desert, away from some attacking droids, with no A-Wing Fighter in sight. What's going on here? My guess is that he isn't running away in fear (just check out that determined look on his face) but that he's actually running to his nearby A-Wing to launch an air attack against the droids. But really, who knows? I think this is one of those 'make up your own scenario' situations. Posted by James. July 11, 2008 Ebay Today These Droids PVC figurines were made by Comics Spain back in 1985. To my knowledge, the Droids set consisted of R2-D2, C-3PO and Kez-Iban. Character Biographies The king of the Duloks! For some reason, Gorneesh has it in for the Ewoks and is continually plotting how he can eliminate them.
