Ewoks and Pilots multipacks on the way?

Picture
February 12, 2012 - POTF2.com has uncovered pictures of what seems to be Ewoks and Pilots 5 packs. It still isn't confirmed that these are for real, and if they are, if they will ever be released. If they are real though, it looks like Princess Kneesaa is one of the figures included! Follow the link to the POTF2.com forums to hear all the rumblings right here!

Fan's Choice Figure Winner

Picture
February 12, 2012 - The Fan's Choice winner has been announced at the New York Toy Fair, and the winner is Mara Jade Skywalker! I'm not sure if it's been determined what outfit she will be wearing, but for years fan's have been asking for a figure of her as a Jedi. The previous two Mara figures were based on her appearance in the Heir to the Empire novels and comics. This is the second Fan's Choice winner to be a female Jedi ( the last winner was Bastila Shan). The winner before that was Knights of the Old Republic Sith Lord Darth Revan. Looks like there is still a real desire among fans for Hasbro to keep making Jedi and Sith from the Expanded Universe. Not a bad thing!
Our winner Princess Kneesaa didn't end up being the overall winner in this contest, but not all is lost (hint, hint!)

Even more wooden droids!

Picture
November 17, 2011 - Here's a few more wooden droids for my Droids themed chess set. The taller one was seen in the background at the droid auction in episode 5: The Lost Prince, and the little round droid is from The Great Heep. Both of them will serve as pawns in the chess game.

More Wooden Droids!

Picture
November 6, 2011 - An R5 Astromech droid from the Droids TV special The Great Heep as well as an all new R2-D2 have now been added to my home made chess collection. Both droids are based off of their animated appearance from the cartoon, have heads that turn and legs that pivot. This new R2 replaces my old one, which was really starting to change color due to some bad lacquer spray.

Droids Characters Update: Auren Yomm

Picture
October 10, 2011 - A new update to the characters section has been made! This time, the subject is Auren Yomm, Mungo Baobab's love interest. Just click on the 'characters' button to see what this section has to offer!

Character Spotlight: Malani

Picture
October 10, 2011 - Little Malani has got to be about the cutest Ewok there is. Younger than Wicket and his friends, Malani received her first hood at the festival of hoods in the episode Cries of the Trees, marking her coming of age. She is the younger sister of Teebo who absolutely adores Wicket, although Wicket doesn't return the same affection. Some of Malani's most memorable adventures occur in Wicket's Wagon and Malani the Warrior.
Since the Ewoks series came to an end, Malani, like most of the Ewoks, has been forgotten by the the writers of Star Wars stories and the makes of Star Wars collectibles, but you can still find a few animation cels of Malani coming up for sale from time to time. There has never been an action figure of Malani, and the chances of ever getting one are slim, but if we are ever lucky enough to get one, hopefully she would come with an alternate skull helmet with cat-tail spear!

Unnamed but interesting droid!

Picture
October 6, 2011 - Droids is full of interesting characters, but several of them still don't have a name. For instance, take this droid. He is a guard droid on the Roon Clipper in episode 12: Across the Roon Sea. I think this kind of droid may have appeared elsewhere in the series as well, but I can't remember where at the moment. Anyway, he reminds me quite a bit of a Battle Droid from the prequel movies. I wonder if the artists who designed the Battle Droids for the movies saw this guy in Droids? What could this droids in-universe story be? Could this be the kind of droid that the Geonosis factories manufactured after Battle Droid production came to an end following the Clone Wars? I wonder. He is green like a Geonosian after all! Too bad starwars.com doesn't run the 'What's the Story' feature for their Databank anymore. What's the Story was a program run by the official site that let fans design a backstory for interesting but unnamed characters a few years ago. I think I could come up with a story for this guy! Most likely he will remain unnamed forever, but that doesn't stop him from being one cool droid!

Droids inspired Clone Wars episode

Picture
October 4, 2011 - There have been rumors that an upcoming episode of The Clone Wars would be inspired by the Droids TV series, and it looks like the next episode will be the one! Looks like C-3PO and R2-D2 once again get their moment to shine as leading characters. As that as far as the tie in goes? I don't know, but it will be interesting to see!

Fan's Choice Top 10 Submitted!

Picture
September 28, 2011 - Our top 10 nominees for the Hasbro Star Wars Action Figure Poll have now been submitted to Hasbro. Thanks to all who participated! Now we wait and see who makes it to the next round in the Star Wars Insider magazine. Hope we see some familiar names! Here is a quick rundown of our top ten:

1. Princess Kneesaa

Picture
Our number one vote getter is Princess Kneesaa; Chief Chirpa's daughter and starring character of the Ewoks cartoon, comics and mid 80's Star Wars merchandise (post Return of the Jedi). Hasbro was planning on including a figure of her with the latest Wicket figure, but changed their plans before production. Hopefully her strong showing here will let Hasbro know that she really is wanted.

2. Chukha-Trok

Picture
Chukha-Trok is another Ewok that has been considering in the past but has still not brought to the production phase. He appeared in the Ewoks movie Caraven of Courage as well as in the Ewoks animated series. Due to the differences in his appearance in these two sources, perhaps this could be another opportunity for Hasbro to include an alternate hood, as they did with Wicket.

Picture

3. Jocasta Nu

Picture
The Jedi temple librarian placed highly in the last Hasbro Fan's Choice Poll, but still has not been made into an action figure. Since then, she has appeared in The Clone Wars TV series, and just may have more fans now than she did a few years ago. She is likely to be a strong contender this year.

4. Dulok Warrior

Picture
Duloks have appeared in several different sources, but most prominently in the Ewoks animated series. In the Kenner Ewoks line a Dulok Scout figure was produced, so this could be considered an update of that figure. Since the Duloks are the Ewoks primary enemies in the Ewoks TV series, a Dulok Warrior figure would likely become an instant army builder figure for Ewoks fans.

5. Mungo Baobab

Picture
Mungo was the longest serving master of C-3PO and R2-D2 in the Droids TV series. He was very nearly made into an action figure in the Kenner Droids line, but unfortunately the line was cancelled before the figure could be released. If there ever is a new figure of Mungo, hopefully he would come with a bag of Roon stones and his seed launcher gun!

6. Cindel Towani

Picture
Cindel was the lead human character in both of the Ewoks movies and is a familiar character to most fans who grew up in the 1980's craving more Star Wars after Return of the Jedi. It's too bad that Kenner never got around to including her in the original Star Wars line. Hopefully she will eventually get her due.

7. Mother Talzin

Picture
Mother Talzin is the leader of the Nightsisters from the planet Dathomir. She was a prominant character in three episodes of season three of The Clone Wars TV series and is a close ally of Asajj Ventress and Savage Opress. The appearance of Mother Talzin is based upon abandoned concept artwork for Darth Maul.

8. Nute Gunray (Revenge of the Sith)

Picture
Gunray is one of the most prominent villains of the prequel trilogy with significant screen time in all three movies, but has still never had an action figure based on his appearance in Revenge of the Sith. Even the Episodes I and II figures of Nute are looking dated now, so an all new figure would be welcomed.

9. Ackmena

Picture
Ackmena tends the bar and entertains the patrons with song at the Mos Eisley cantina in the Star Wars Holiday Special. LFL isn't too keen on making figures from the Holiday Special, but that hasn't stopped fan's from asking for figures. Ackmena was played by well known actress Bea Arthur.

10. Female Ewok (Shodu) with wokling

Picture
Shodu is Wicket's mother, and she was seen in both Ewoks movies as well as in several episodes of the Ewoks animated series. A figure of her would be accompanied by her wokling Winda. Shodu is another Ewok who's figure could have alternate hoods, due to variances in appearance between the TV movies and animated series.
